【民生讲座】11/07 设计的国家性

嘉宾：杨明洁

一位法国记者曾问杨明洁什么是中国的设计？比如日本的设计是极简。杨明洁回答：筷子。无论从精神层面还是用户层面，相对刀叉而言，筷子是极简的。是否可以这样说？极简源自中国，不是日本，也不是德国包豪斯。

一件优良产品的诞生须依托于一个国家产业基础的成熟及文化的强势，这是一个有关设计的国家性问题。要做一看上去像中国的产品并不难，难的是该产品如何基于本土的产业基础，并在全球产生影响力，如德国的汽车、美国的苹果。本次讲座设计师杨明洁将带我们探讨设计中的感悟以及中国设计产业发展中的前瞻性问题。

杨明洁，著名工业设计师，YANG DESIGN及YDC创始人，在浙江大学与中国美院完成七年学业后，获德国WK基金会全额奖学金赴德留学，获工业设计硕士后，任职于慕尼黑西门子设计总部。囊获了包括德国红点奖、iF、日本G-mark、美国IDEA、亚洲最具影响力设计银奖在内的六十多项设计大奖。其作品展出于全球各大设计展与博物馆。2005年回国创办YANG DESIGN与YDC，迄今已分别发展成为在产品创新与城市创新领域的领先策略与设计顾问机构。2014年杨明洁创办的中国首家私人工业设计博物馆在上海正式落成，其收藏的近千件工业老产品与当代优良产品展示了工业设计的历史、现代与未来。

“Chopsticks” was the answer YangJiemingonce held when questioned by a French journalist what Chinese design wasin hismind. Be it from a perspective of a psychological level or a customer asauser, compared to knives and folks, chopsticks by no means are complex.Inanother word: minimalism. Thus, shall we jump into the conclusionthatminimalism actually originated from neither in Japan nor in BauhausGermany,but in China?

 

A qualified product relies on thematurityof the national strength and cultural prosperity. It is a matter aboutdesignunder a context of nation. To make a Chinese-like product is no longeradifficulty; to impact the whole world with a real strong base of localindustrybase is. Das Auto Germany and Apple from America are two of thebiggestsuccesses. This time, designer Jamy Yang is invited to embark on hisfeelingsand thoughts upon the national design as well as a series of insightsof thecontemporary Chinese design’s tomorrow.

Jamy Yang has received master degreeofindustrial design from Germany with full scholarship of WK Foundation,after7-year study in Zhejiang University and China Academy of Art. He went ontodesign products for Siemens at their headquarters in Munich, and onreturningto China, he founded YANG DESIGN and YDC in 2005. It is his fusionofcraftsmanship and innovation that has made Jamy the one haveachievedinternational recognition, winning over 60 local and internationaldesigningawards including five Red Dots, iF, G-mark, IDEA and DFA Silver. Hisworks havebeen displayed in renowned designing exhibitions and museumsworldwide.
